When is Mother’s Day in Sweden?

Swedish Mother’s Day is celebrated on the last Sunday of May.  In Sweden, Mother’s Day celebrations are relatively new, starting from 1919 when a brochure with recommendations for celebrations was published. These included serving your mum breakfast in bed, giving her a day off from domestic chores or singing her a song and making her feel appreciated.

Mother’s Day didn’t take off properly until the 1930’s when the celebrations were encouraged in schools and churches.
