How to Choose a Christmas Gift (Infographic)

Christmas season is upon us, meaning it’s the annual tradition of picking the perfect present to put under the tree.

From parents, in-laws, siblings, partners, friends, and co-workers – your shopping list can seem endless at times. So where to start?

Whether your recipient is creative, sporty, adventurous, geeky, intellectual or indoorsy – or a mixture of both – the perfect present is a combination of thought, delivery, and presentation.

If it’s not too late, keep your ears open of clues. Note down if they’ve mentioned any particular interests or hobbies. Otherwise, if you’re reading this and the next time you’ll see them is Christmas day, then you might find yourself in a sticky situation.

Fear not, as Serenataflowers.com have your Christmas gift covered. Check out the flowchart below and give yourself some gift-buying inspiration.

Tips for dealing with Christmas shopping

Make a list

It’s less about figuring out who’s been naughty or nice, but rather, having a game plan with a budget and sticking to it. This way you’ll save on impulse buys and make sure you have everyone you need covered. No emergency supermarket chocolates necessary.

Start early

Shops tend to be quieter in the mornings, so avoid the weekend afternoon madness if you can. If you’re starting your shopping weeks in advance, make sure the exchange or returns period hasn’t expired by Boxing Day.

Don’t shop ‘til you drop

Make the most of retailers’ extending opening hours rather than cramming all your shopping in a few hours. Wear comfortable shoes, drink plenty of water and spread your shopping out over a few days if possible.

Shop online

Avoid the crowds altogether and shop from the comfort of your own home. You can either get gifts delivered to yourself or straight to your recipient. Just make sure you order before the Christmas delivery cut-off time.

Get crafty

Christmas isn’t all about retail. It’s the act of giving that’s special, so consider making your own cards, baking your own cookies or just getting crafty. Whatever it is, the effort that goes into it will make the gift extra special.

Be charitable

A goat, a toilet or a water pump. Presents don’t always have to be wrapped and under a tree. Giving the gift of a donation will make your recipient smile, and brighten the lives of people less fortunate across the other side of the world.
