1. Monkey Face Orchid (Dracula Simia)
With its two long, fang-like petals, it is little wonder this plant goes by the name of ‘Dracula’, whilst what appears to be two fuzzy dotted eyebrows, two dark eyes and a furry nose bear striking similarities to the face of a monkey when viewed from a distance. Found in the cloud forests of Peru at altitudes of more than 3,000 feet, and in south-eastern Ecuador, the Monkey face Orchid is a rare oddity.
2. Bat Plant (Tacca Integrifolia)
This is said to be one of the largest and most beautiful flowers the world has to offer. Boasting a series of distinguished black flower clusters and white bracts, it resembles an abundance of bat’s faces. This particular specie of plant can grow up to 90cm tall and despite its aesthetically pleasing appearance, is actually a descendent of the yam family!
3. Moth Orchid (Phalaenpsis Amabilis)
Despite being the most common type of Orchid, it’s also one of the most unique in appearance. Many say it resembles a moth in flight. So what sets it apart from its siblings? Its ability to bloom as and when it pleases – provided the temperature is right.
4. Hookers Lips (Psychotria Elata)
With its bright red shade and bracts that are uncannily pout-ish, it’s easy to see where this flower got its name! This beautiful flowers is native to Costa Rica, Columbia and Panama – it’s an extremely popular plant with collectors – so popular in fact, it’s now on the endangered list!
5. Naked Man Orchid (Orchis Italica)
Sometimes known as the Hanging Man Orchid, this particular plant is available in all sizes and shapes, including a range of colours spanning from a deep pink to a purplish white.

As one of the rarest flowers in existence, it’s no surprise these little beauties made it on the list. They look exactly like dancing ladies in dresses.
7. Corpse Flower (Rafflesia Keithii)
Despite what its name suggests, the Corpse Flower (although morbid) is somewhat striking. Found in the Indonesian rainforests, this specie of flower is one of the world’s largest blossoms.
8. Bee Orchid (Ophrys Apifera)
Even close up, this stunning, self-pollinating flower resembles what can only be described as a smiling bumblebee.
9. Parrot Flower (Impatiens Psittacina)
This pretty pink, endangered flower is native to Thailand. From various angles it looks just like a parrot in flight.
10. Flying Duck Orchid (Caleana Major)
This particular specie of flower will only grow in the Australian outback. Its deep red shade and unique shape attracts sawflies, which increase pollination.
11. Tiger Face in Moon Orchid (Phalaenopsis Amabilis)
The Tiger Moon Orchid, also known as the ‘Flower of Charm’ is one of Indonesia’s three national flowers. Its distinguished stripes not only look pretty, but they scare away predators too.

The Virgin Mary in Moon Orchid’s flawlessly white petals glitter as if enveloped in frost. Each flower looks a little like a miniature carving of the Catholic Madonna.
